The York Federation of Students in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which represents over 40,000 undergraduate students, would like to send a message of support and solidarity with the students of Belgrade and all other supporters of democracy.

We stand with you in your outrage at the government decision to annul the results of recent elections in which opposition parties won representation. We strongly believe that the will of the people should be respected and democracy upheld, regardless of the parties involved.

We demand that the government respect the wishes of the people of Belgrade and we categorically condemn any actions taken against any protesters. We hope that you are successful in your struggle. We join other groups around the globe to support your fight and contribute to the international pressure building against the corrupt government that ignores the will of the people. Your struggle is our struggle.
