The Initiative Board of the Student Protest '96 sent a letter to President
Slobodan Milosevic.
"We the students of Belgrade University, hold you most responsible for the
outcome of this political and legal farce. As our demands are adherent to our
principles, we insist that you do everything in your constitutional and legal
powers to see them fulfilled. We do not need great speeches and empty promises
- we need decisive actions", it is stressed in the letter.
The students of the Medical School expressed their "anger and discontent" because of the brutal beating of Bogdan Belesnin, a professor of this school.
Several thousand students from the University in Novi Sad gathered in front of the Municipal board office of the SPS to express severe protest because of the outbreak of violence in Belgrade.
The Belgrade Student Union sent a letter to President Slobodan Milosevic today in which they give "unreserved support" to his speech at the meeting organized by the SPS, report the media in Belgrade.

Slavko Drljevic the newly elected Vice-President for the government of Montenegro stated for "Dnevni Telegraf" that his country intends to stand up to uncontrolled printing of money in Serbia by any means. We have a common attitude - to react quickly and decisively. In the beginning, as a temporary solution, tokens of value would be introduced and later on we would have our own currency", said Drljevic.
