Announcement of the Protest Board of the School of Mathematics
On Sunday February 2, 1997 during the brutal dispersing of demonstrators at Branko's bridge, a professor of ours, prof. Zoran Lucic, Head of the Division for geometry and member of the University Counsil of BU was treacherously beaten. Professor Lucic received head injuries and police disgracefully beat the wife of professor Lucic.
Except for them, prof. Dr. Slobodan Vujosevic, professor of the University of Montenegro, part-time employee of the School of Mathematics and Federal Delegate was also beaten.
During the same night, students of the School of Mathematics witnessed the beating of students who sought shelter in the building of the School of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. One students was beaten by three brutes on the staircase leading to the main entrance of the building, and then shoved into a police van.
At the Student Assembly, which was attended by more than 500 students as well as professors and associates of the School of Mathematics, the persons who ordered the beating of citizens were sharply condemned and the publishing the names of the persons responsible for the issuing of the orders and police officers involved was demanded.
