TEXT OF THE LEX SPECIALIS PROPOSED TO THE SERBIAN
PARLIAMENTARTICLE 1.
In line with the OSCE mission report, this law
proclaims as final the results of the elections, held on
17th November 1996, of deputies to the councils of the
municipalities of Pirot, Kraljevo, Uzice, Smederevska
Palanka, Vrsac, Sokobanja, Pancevo, Jagodina, Zrenjanin,
Lapovo, Sabac, Stari Grad, Vracar, Savski Venac,
Zvezdara, Rakovica, Palilula, Cukarica and Vozdovac, as
well as the deputies to the city councils of the cities
of Kragujevac, Nis and Belgrade.
ARTICLE 2.
The individual election of deputies, on the basis
of the results of Article 1 of this law, are decided by
the municipal electoral commission, or city electoral
commission within three days from the day this law takes
effect.
If the electoral commission does not comply with
the above by the stipulated deadline, the Ministry of
Justice will decide the individual choice of deputies in
the next 48 hours.
No administrative proceedings may be brought
against decisions of municipal and city electoral
commissions or the decisions of the Ministry of Justice.
ARTICLE 3.
The constituent session of the municipal and city
councils covered by this law is convened by the Speaker
of the People's Assembly not later than five days from
the day when the confirmed elections results have been
announced.
ARTICLE 4.
This law takes effect the day after it has been
published in the "Official Gazette of the Republic
of Serbia".
