The delegation of the Nis University protesting students' board met on Feb. 7 with head of the Third army information department, Colonel Velimir Obradovic, who told them that the army would not interfere in the events related to the local elections in Serbia. A student statement quoted Obradovic as saying that the army would not meddle in political affairs, but that, at the same time, it would not allow the breaking out of civil war in Yugoslavia.
